Review: Prisoners are very suspenseful and equally disturbing. Canadian director Denis Villeneuve, Incendies, whose previous film was the same in the enchanting and disturbing, the tension builds from the first frame, and it does not allow for a full 153 minutes of the film. Aaron Guzikowskis script, even a child abduction thriller, Hollywood trends and the dollar, as well as the surface tension of a thriller, raises serious moral issues. In addition, the film did a wonderful job for the first-rate cast: Hugh Jackman, Jake Gyllenhaal, Paul Dano, Terence Howard, Melissa Leo, Viola Davis and Maria Bello. Prisoners are not for the faint heated, but it is likely to be strongly Oscar years to come. |
