Review: I attended the Cast and Crew screening on Sunday, in Leicester Square, with high expectations for the film as it is without a doubt the most exciting job I've had. This is my first experience with this feature, and works for Tim Burton's a hell of a way to start.But, even as a man with many opportunities for his films, and an already existing prejudices, I really could not connect. The cast acquit themselves well, especially considering the aforementioned difficulty emoting with a tennis ball on a stick, but all their quirks and tics somewhat masking a void in the middle of what should be a free-floating, evocative journey. Sure, the odd-looking, but we have seen it before, and then back to movies like Edward Scissorhands had a sense of having a purpose. Now left exploring a CGI Wonderland looks without much surprise. The book revels in its unique environment, absurd dialogue and quirky characters. The basis of this film, it drains the mystery and left us with a colorful but forgettable retread. Seems intent on driving us to an essay conclusion that some people had much stake through his life, because just do not give much appreciate for.With a source of material so familiar, even in the knowledge that references used, there must be a degree innovation (such as the Svenkmejers dark stop-motion version of the cooptation of Terry Gilliam in his thesis Tideland), or other more of a studious and inspired adaptation that eventually return to Lewis Carroll back. There is at least one technique involved, and while he might not be at its best ill still pay to see a Tim Burton movie (though I got one for free ...)
