Review: I find it ironic that Gerard Butler, a Scot, as a disgraced Secret Agent Mike Ban, embodies the spirit of John McClane much more than Bruce Willis did in the last terrible outing. Anyway, Butler has nothing but his reputation as a cost-effective and responsive action hero for a new generation in this old-school action movie made of cement. He has a commanding presence on screen, jokes aside, bleed when crucial, and sends the bad guys in a methodical cross between Jason Bourne and John Rambo.
